The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has formally opened the 2025 application procedure.
Applications at the moment are open and will shut on fifteen December 2024.
*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding
To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant should meet the following requirements:
• Be a South African citizen or copyright who arises from a home by using a combined gross home earnings that doesn't exceed R350 000 for every annum.
• Persons with disabilities qualify if their combined house income does not exceed R600 000 per annum.
• SASSA recipients automatically qualify for funding and need not submit any evidence of earnings.

NSFAS only funds individuals who are learning or intend to study at a public university or TVET college in South Africa.

Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
